Sedona, AZ May 3 – 6, 2026Traveling without the ability to drive requires careful planning. Because Sedona has no train service and a rideshare was impractical for the 90-minute journey, Greyhound was the best option. After the two-hour bus trip, a short ride took us to Arabella, our home for the next few days. Along the way, we saw dramatic rock formations, dusty terrain, and low shrubs reminiscent of the Grand Canyon.

As a widow who cannot drive or fly for medical reasons, travel requires extra research, planning, and organization. This section shares the story of our three-day train trip, including the journey itself, the sights we enjoyed, what went well, and what I would do differently next time.
First Annual Gobble Getaway
We took Greyhound to Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida for Thanksgiving—my first solo trip, close to home and familiar territory. Since I can't drive or fly for medical reasons, Greyhound was ideal, and the ride was pleasant with helpful people. The Doubletree, a Disney resort, provided shuttle service and exceptional staff.
