As a widow who cannot drive or fly for medical reasons, travel requires extra research, planning, and organization. This section shares the story of our three-day train trip, including the journey itself, the sights we enjoyed, what went well, and what I would do differently next time.
First Annual Gobble Getaway
We took Greyhound to Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida for Thanksgiving—my first solo trip, close to home and familiar territory. Since I can't drive or fly for medical reasons, Greyhound was ideal, and the ride was pleasant with helpful people. The Doubletree, a Disney resort, provided shuttle service and exceptional staff.
